![]() ![]() Review: Subnautica is an ever-changing, ever-growing survival adventure game that gets you to build you own underwater world in a sea/ocean that is full of incredibly well-designed flora, fauna and sea creatures, it seems to have everything interesting to look at and at many times make you forget the survival aspects of the game.īut it is that survival element of the game that makes it so tough. Venture deeper and further form to find rarer resources, allowing you to craft more advanced items. Craft diving gear, lights, habitat modules, and submersibles. Collect resources from the ocean around you. The water teems with life: Some of it helpful, much of it harmful.Īfter crash landing in your Life Pod, the clock is ticking to find water, food, and to develop the equipment you need to explore. Q: Why can’t I play on Steam with my Rift?Ī: We’ll be releasing a patch to Steam soon that enables Steam players to use the Rift. Here’s some further Q&A with Max about what’s going on with Subnautica VR: Once it has completed essential testing, we will release it publicly and you will be able to play Subnautica on Steam with an Oculus Rift. We currently have an internal version of Subnautica that runs on the new Rift SDK. I’m pretty sure that it won’t even recognize that you have a Rift and it will just run in 2D mode.” Once players have the shipping Rift or upgrade the firmware on their DK2s they will not be able to play on that version. “The Steam version of Subnautica is currently only compatible with the pre-1.0 Rift SDK.
